A first in Stuhrling Original’s watch collection and the most recent member of the Mad Man family, the Stuhrling Original Men's Sportsmans Collection Madman Digital Quartz Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Watch makes a tremendous impression the moment it was finalized. This brand new timepiece is very special in that it is the first and only Analog-Digital watch Stuhrling produced, and when you do things right the first time, you end up with something like the Mad Man Traveler. Right from the start, the Traveler exudes the Mad Man’s personality, as it is in the same massive stainless steel case design. The dial is decorated by Cotes de Genève, and atop it, individually applied Arabic numerals and baton-style indices. At the center of the blue dial you will find the partial circle minute track with hour markers, split by the digital read-out windows. The lower arc was made larger to give the Traveler that classic Mad Man “smile.” Powered by an add/split function chronograph movement, this amazing timepiece also functions as a world timer; by setting your current time, you will be able to track the time from all the major time zones in the world. Unlike the original Mad Man, the Traveler comes on a genuine black leather strap, comfortable and stylish with its indented hexagonal studs. A curved Krysterna crystal, a material more shatter-resistant than sapphire, protects the dial and movement, and its curved case design adds extra comfort on the wrist.

Stuhrling Original is all about respect for the art and tradition of the watch-making legend, along with its culture and history as a whole. What better homage to horologic history than to take us back to the first portable timepiece, the pocket watch? These spectacular timepieces used to be the height of scientific advancement, a symbol of status and wealth since only the wealthiest members of society were able to afford them. It took an incredible amount of skill and craftsmanship to think up, design, and build each pocket watch by hand; so much so that you had to become a dedicated apprentice to a master watch maker for years before you became proficient. This in mind, Stuhrling decided to come out with its own line of pocket watches for the Montres de Poche Series. Similar to the Avignon, the Marseille is also a skeleton pocket watch, but rather than having just part of the dial cut away, all but the outer ring that contains the embossed Roman numerals was eschewed. The exposed movement is then decorated with beautiful scrollwork. You can easily observe the mainspring and balance wheel oscillating at 18,000 vibrations per second. Blued plume and dauphine style hands with luminous fill indicate the hour and minutes with supreme clarity; the Marseille is an extremely handsome watch for the most formal and dressy occasions. True to the pocket watches in this series and to watches in a historical sense, this stunning timepiece is powered by a pure mechanical movement. The round case measures in at an impressive 51mm, which was blanked from solid bars of 316L surgical grade stainless steel, while the movement is protected, front and back, by mineral crystals. This beautiful pocket watch comes with a 14” stainless steel curb-link chain, a watch clip on one end and a belt clip on the other.

Here we have a watch with dual personalities. On one hand it can function as a sport watch due to its innovative and unique design, but on the other hand it can also be a boardroom piece because of its impressive presence and size. Say hello to a Stuhrling Original timepiece that makes one of the most prominent impressions in our entire collection: the Mad Man. This watch is loud. It screams for attention, and with the shear amount of detail we’ve put into this timepiece, not noticing it would be nothing short of insanity. The Mad Man’s ultra urban design makes it a member of the Metro Collection. Its rectangular case actually wears much larger than it looks. Measuring in at 42.6mm from 9H-3H and 52.7mm from 12H to 6H, the Mad Man has a case equivalency of 53mm if it were a round timepiece. The dial work is simply amazing. Rather than settling for a solid color, we split the dial into two distinct and contrasting shades of gray, a part of why it was called the Mad Man: its two personalities fight for attention, and yet they compliment each other so well. The upper portion of the dial is decorated with Cotes Circulaire, whole the lower portion, from 3H to 8H, received a matte finish. Sweeping across the bottom of the dial is the quick set date arc whose plate turns along with the movement. As an additional aesthetic touch, the numerals, markers, and hands were treated with Luminova for easy read in the dark.
